The extended weekend of November 5th is full a pre-election activities since the election is almost upon us.  Based on what we are seeing in other communities, we are anticipating a very low turnout.  In a tiny turnout election, a very small number of people can swing the race.  The most important thing now is to make sure that our voters turn out to vote.

This weekend, instead of having a standout, we are planning a GOTV (get out the vote) WEEKEND!

Saturday, November 5

We will start at Mayor Fiorentini's house this Saturday at 9:30 AM for coffee and donuts.

We will need people to go door-to-door, make calls (please bring your cell phones), drive, and -- if we have enough people -- farm out over the city and hold a few signs.  But holding signs will not be our focus.

We are ONLY going to call and visit our friends and supporters; it will be non-confrontational and a very enjoyable experience.

Sunday, November 6

Sunday night we will meet at the Mayor's house again starting at 6:00 PM for phone calls.  Please bring your cell phones; and, again, we are only calling friends.

Monday, November 7

Monday night is our Annual Pasta Supper -- $15 each, $25 for the entire family -- 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM at Maria's.  Jim knows that times are tough so if you can't afford it, come as his guest.

Tuesday, November 8 -- ELECTION DAY!

We need help all day long making calls, driving people to the polls, and going door-to-door.

We will be starting at 6:00 AM from the Mayor's house.   We need people in groups all day long.

Can you spare a couple of hours?  Just e-mail Linda, Jim's Election Day Coordinator or Jim himself to let them know what hours you are available.

If you could make certain that everyone in your family votes, including all your children and relatives who are registered to vote in Haverhill, the Mayor and his team would really appreciate it.
